đšī¸ Did You Know? Classic Handhelds Had TV Tuners?! đē
đ¤¯ Tito from Macho Nacho Productions just dropped a video showcasing a surprising fact: many classic handhelds (like Game Gear, Turbo Vision, PC Engine, GBA, PSP, and NDS!) actually had TV tuners! It’s wild to think about!
Here’s the lowdown:
- TV Tuners Existed! Beyond the iconic Game Gear tuner, a bunch of other handhelds had the ability to pull in over-the-air TV signals. Check out the video to see them in action! [Link to Video]
- DIY Wireless TV? You can achieve wireless signal output! A transmitter linked below ([Link to Transmitter]) can allow you to broadcast the signal to your TV or another handheld â setting it to VHF/N/192.25/4.5 will output on channel 10.
- Signal Strength is Key: Antenna positioning, distance, and obstructions will dramatically impact signal quality. Start with the basic transmitter setup before investing in upgrades.
- Aspect Ratio & Lag Ahead: Even with a tuner setup, expect to tweak aspect ratio and deal with potential input lag.
- More to Come! Bob (from the original article) will be releasing a video soon covering the finer points of setup, aspect ratio, and reducing lag.
